Yo La Tengo is an American indie rock band formed in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1984. The Bowery Ballroom, located in Manhattan’s East Village, New York City, opened in 1998. Originally constructed as a German beer hall in the late 19th century, it underwent several transformations before being renovated as a music venue. The space retains architectural details from its earlier life, including stained glass windows and high ceilings. It’s widely recognized as a significant independent music venue with a capacity of approximately 575 people. The Bowery Ballroom has hosted numerous established and emerging artists across various genres and is noted for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics.
