Her conducting style is often described as possessing both technical precision and emotional depth, drawing out nuanced performances from orchestras. She currently serves as Music Director of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, among other affiliations.

Walt Disney Concert Hall, designed by Frank Gehry, opened in October 2003 and is renowned for its striking architectural design and exceptional acoustics. The hall is the home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Master Chorale. Its vineyard-style seating arrangement places the audience closer to the performers, enhancing the immersive experience. The hall’s acoustic design was led by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming to create a warm and clear sound throughout the space.
