The Filharmonia Krakowska holds a significant place in Poland’s cultural landscape. Established in 1909, it initially operated under the patronage of Count Stanisław Tarnowski before becoming a municipal institution. The current main concert hall, situated on Zwierzyniecka Street, opened in 1910 and is considered one of the finest concert venues in Krakow due to its acoustics and architectural design. Throughout its history, the Filharmonia has hosted performances by numerous internationally renowned orchestras, conductors and soloists. It serves as the home base for both the Krakow Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, actively contributing to Krakow’s vibrant musical life through a diverse program of symphonic and chamber music concerts.
