Wilco is scheduled to perform at Grind City Music Center’s outdoor venue, Grind City Amp, in Memphis, Tennessee on July 7, 2026. The band is known for a sound that initially emerged from the alternative country scene of the 1990s but has since evolved to encompass a wide range of genres including art rock, experimental pop, and folk. Characterized by Jeff Tweedy’s songwriting and distinctive vocals, their music often features intricate arrangements and lyrical depth.

Grind City Amp opened in 2018 as part of a broader revitalization effort within the South Main Arts District. The venue is an open-air amphitheater built on the grounds formerly occupied by the Wonder Bread factory – a nod reflected in its name ("Grind City" being a local nickname referencing the bakery). It’s designed to accommodate approximately 2,300 attendees and quickly became a popular spot for both national touring acts and local musicians due to its intimate atmosphere and focus on sound quality. The space aims to provide a mid-sized concert experience not previously readily available within Memphis city limits. It is operated by local independent promotion company, Music Plus.
