The Wiener Symphoniker will perform at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria on May 13, 2027. The orchestra is renowned for its interpretations of the Viennese classical repertoire – composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert – alongside a commitment to contemporary music. Historically, the orchestra developed from the Tonkünstler-Gesellschaft founded in 1842 and has a long tradition of working with prominent conductors and soloists. Their sound is often characterized by richness, precision, and a distinctly Viennese warmth.

The Musikverein, home to the concert, is a globally celebrated concert hall famed for its exceptional acoustics. Completed in 1870, it was designed by Hans Hansen and houses the renowned Golden Hall (Goldener Saal), where the majority of performances take place. The hall’s design intentionally eschewed the then-popular shoebox shape in favour of a rectangular form inspired by ancient Greek temples. This unconventional shape, combined with specific architectural details like the wooden interior paneling and vaulted ceiling, contributes significantly to its celebrated acoustic properties; it's considered one of the finest concert halls in the world.
