Westwind Brass is a professional brass quintet renowned for its diverse repertoire spanning Renaissance, Baroque, classical, and contemporary music, alongside arrangements of jazz standards and popular tunes. The ensemble is recognized for its virtuosic playing and engaging stage presence, frequently performing both traditional brass quintet literature and commissioning new works. They have a long history of educational outreach in addition to concert performances.

The Stuart Collection is a unique outdoor sculpture park located on the campus of the University of California, San Diego. Initiated in 1981 through a gift from James Stuart, the collection features site-specific sculptures created by internationally recognized artists. These artworks are integrated into the landscape and architectural environment of the university, offering an ongoing dialogue between art, nature, and academic life. The collection currently includes over 70 works by artists from around the globe. Its location provides an unconventional setting for musical performances, blending visual art with auditory experience. The park is free and open to the public year-round. The July 23rd, 2026 performance represents a continuation of occasional musical events hosted within the Stuart Collection’s grounds.
