Experience Westwind Brass live on July 4th
Westwind Brass is a professional brass quintet known for performing a diverse repertoire spanning Renaissance, Baroque, classical, and contemporary music. Their performances frequently include arrangements of orchestral works, original compositions for brass, and selections from popular music – all adapted for the unique sound of two trumpets, horn, trombone, and tuba. The ensemble has a long-standing history of educational outreach and concertizing throughout Southern California and beyond.
The concert will take place at the Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor and Interpretive Center. This center serves as the primary public information hub for the 7,200-acre Mission Trails Regional Park, one of San Diego’s largest and most popular natural parks. Opened in 1994, the facility is designed to educate visitors about the park’s natural and cultural history. Its exhibits focus on the area’s geology, native plants & animals, and the Kumeyaay Native American people who historically inhabited the region. The center’s location provides access to numerous hiking trails and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The building itself incorporates sustainable design elements reflecting an environmental consciousness consistent with the park's preservation goals.
