Vincent Peirani is a French jazz accordionist and composer known for his highly lyrical and innovative approach to the instrument. His music blends traditional jazz harmony with elements of classical music, folk melodies, and world music influences, often characterized by a distinctive emotional depth and virtuosity. He frequently collaborates with prominent figures in contemporary jazz and has released several critically acclaimed albums as a leader and sideman.

Casa da Música, designed by Rem Koolhaas and opened in 2005, is Porto’s principal concert hall and a landmark building in the city. It represents a significant example of contemporary architecture intended to revitalize the area and provide a world-class performance space. The building’s design deliberately breaks from traditional concert hall aesthetics, prioritizing acoustic flexibility and public access alongside its striking visual form.

The venue houses two main halls – the Sala Suggela (Great Hall) with capacity for over 1,200 people, and the Sala Pequena (Small Hall) – alongside rehearsal spaces, educational facilities, and public areas. Casa da Música hosts a diverse program encompassing orchestral performances, contemporary music, jazz concerts, dance productions, and other cultural events.
