Victor Wooten is scheduled to perform at The Granada in Lawrence, Kansas on December 4, 2026. Wooten is a highly acclaimed American bassist, composer, and recording artist renowned for his innovative and virtuosic approach to the instrument. His musical style blends elements of jazz, funk, soul, and bluegrass, frequently incorporating complex harmonics, percussive techniques, and improvisational interplay with fellow musicians. He gained prominence as a member of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and has since maintained a successful solo career releasing numerous albums and touring internationally.

The Granada Theatre originally opened in 1927 as a movie palace during the height of the vaudeville era. Located on Massachusetts Street in downtown Lawrence, it operated continuously as a cinema until 1968. Following a period of disuse and subsequent renovations completed in 2018, The Granada reopened as a live music venue and event space. The building retains much of its original architectural detailing including ornate plasterwork and Art Deco features.
