The Woodruff Arts Center serves as Atlanta’s leading cultural venue, encompassing the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the High Museum of Art. Originally named the Memorial Arts Center, it was dedicated in 1968 as a tribute to Robert W. Woodruff, former president of The Coca-Cola Company and a significant philanthropist in the city. A major expansion and renaming occurred in 1989 to honor Woodruff’s continued support.

The center's architecture is notable for its modernist design and integration of multiple performance spaces within a single complex.
