The Woodruff Arts Center serves as Atlanta’s leading arts hub, encompassing the Alliance Theatre, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the High Museum of Art. Originally opened in 1968 as the Memorial Arts Center, it was renamed in 1989 to honor Robert W. Woodruff, a prominent Atlanta businessman and philanthropist whose significant contributions were instrumental in its establishment.

The complex itself underwent a major expansion and renovation completed in 2018, enhancing its performance spaces and visitor experience. Its primary performance hall for orchestral and large ensemble concerts is Symphony Hall, noted for its acoustics and architectural design.
