Over its history it transitioned through various uses including a movie house during the mid-20th century. In 1973 it was purchased and renovated to become a live performance venue. The building underwent significant restoration work completed in 2013 which preserved its historic architectural details while updating its technical capabilities. It’s known for its intimate setting and varied programming encompassing national touring acts across multiple genres. The theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a central fixture in Boulder’s cultural landscape.
