Massive Attack founding member Robert “Tricky” 3D will perform at The Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, Arizona on September 23, 2026. Tricky’s musical style is generally categorized as trip-hop, though it incorporates elements of dark ambient, dub, electronica, and experimental rock. Characterized by its atmospheric textures, layered beats, and often melancholic vocal delivery – frequently featuring Tricky’s own distinctive rapping and spoken word – his work explores themes of paranoia, isolation, and inner turmoil. He rose to prominence in the early 1990s with his debut album *Maxinquaye* (1995), considered a landmark release in the trip-hop genre. Throughout his career he has consistently pushed boundaries within electronic music.

The Crescent Ballroom is an independent music venue located in downtown Phoenix, established in 2007. Housed within a renovated 1913 building originally constructed as a mercantile, it's known for its intimate setting and focus on showcasing diverse musical acts spanning indie rock, alternative, folk, and electronic genres.
