Tortoise, the Chicago-based instrumental band, is scheduled to perform at the Knockdown Center in East New York, Brooklyn, on June 25, 2026. Formed in 1990, Tortoise avoids traditional rock structures, often prioritizing texture and atmosphere over conventional song formats. The Knockdown Center itself occupies a repurposed industrial building in East New York.
