Tommy Emmanuel, a highly acclaimed Australian guitarist, is scheduled to perform at Hering Auditorium in Fairbanks, Alaska on October 11, 2026. Emmanuel’s musical style is often described as a dynamic blend of fingerstyle guitar, encompassing elements of jazz, blues, folk, rockabilly and classical music. He is renowned for his percussive techniques – utilizing the guitar as a full band – and complex arrangements that often mimic multiple instruments simultaneously. Throughout his career, he has supported artists like Eric Clapton and Chet Atkins, the latter being a significant influence and mentor.

Hering Auditorium is located within the Davis Concert Hall on the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) campus. Opened in 1988, Davis Concert Hall was named in honor of benefactor Neil Davis and his wife Mary. The auditorium itself provides a dedicated performance space for a variety of events including orchestral performances, theatrical productions and recitals. It’s known for its acoustics designed to enhance musical clarity and projection; seating approximately 870 people. The hall features adaptable stage configurations to accommodate diverse artistic presentations and serves as a central hub for arts and culture within the Fairbanks community and UAF.
