Tommy Emmanuel, a highly acclaimed Australian guitarist, will be performing at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts – Discovery Theatre in Anchorage, Alaska on October 8, 2026. Emmanuel is renowned for his complex percussive style, often described as a one-man band due to his ability to simultaneously cover bass lines, melodies, harmonies and rhythms on a single acoustic guitar. His repertoire spans multiple genres including jazz, blues, folk, rock and classical, frequently incorporating original compositions alongside arrangements of popular songs. He has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career and has collaborated with artists like Eric Clapton and Chet Atkins.

The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts is Anchorage’s largest performing arts venue. The Discovery Theatre, one of its three performance spaces, opened in 1988 and is known for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics. Originally conceived as a venue to showcase both local Alaskan talent and touring national and international acts, it hosts a diverse range of performances including theatre, dance, music concerts (spanning classical to contemporary), and speaker events. The theatre has a seating capacity of approximately 650 people and features adaptable staging configurations to accommodate varied production needs.
