Tlalok is scheduled to perform at The Gig in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 2nd, 2026. The musical project, spearheaded by artist Mateo Vargas, blends elements of progressive rock with traditional Mexican folklore and instrumentation. Tlalok’s sound often features complex rhythmic structures, incorporating pre-Hispanic percussion alongside electric guitars and synthesizers. Lyrical themes frequently explore mythology, environmental concerns, and cultural identity. The project has released two full-length albums to date – *Quinto Sol* (2022) and *Semillas del Tiempo* (2024) – receiving critical acclaim within independent music circles for its innovative approach to genre fusion.

The Gig is a long-standing independent music venue located in Milwaukee’s Riverwest neighborhood. Established in 1995, it has become known for hosting a diverse range of local and touring acts, specializing in alternative, experimental, and underground music genres. The venue maintains a focus on supporting emerging artists and fostering a community atmosphere. Its relatively intimate capacity—approximately 250 people—contributes to a close connection between performers and audience members.
