Tinariwen will perform at Loft Culturel Les Bourdaines in Seignosse, France on October 1st, 2027. The group is a Grammy-winning collective of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara Desert region of Mali. Their music blends traditional Tuareg instrumentation – often featuring electric guitars, bass, and percussion – with elements of blues and rock, creating a distinctive sound frequently described as “desert blues.” Lyrics are typically sung in Tamasheq, addressing themes of nomadic life, political struggle, and cultural identity. Formed in the late 1970s in Libyan refugee camps, Tinariwen initially used music as a means of expressing resistance and advocating for Tuareg rights.

Loft Culturel Les Bourdaines is a venue located in Seignosse, Landes department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Established in 2010, it functions as a multi-disciplinary cultural space focused on live music performances, particularly those showcasing world music and alternative genres. The venue is known for its intimate atmosphere and commitment to supporting emerging artists alongside established names. It’s built within the former Bourdaines sawmill site, retaining some industrial architectural features which contribute to its unique character.
