Experience Tinariwen live on September 13th
Tinariwen is a Grammy-winning musical group originating from the Sahara Desert region of Mali. Their music blends traditional Tuareg music with elements of blues, rock, and psychedelic influences, often featuring hypnotic guitar riffs, call-and-response vocals in Tamasheq (a Tuareg language), and rhythms driven by percussion and bass. Formed in the late 1970s amidst political unrest, Tinariwen’s early performances were often held in Libyan refugee camps, evolving into a globally recognized act advocating for Tuareg rights and culture.
The concert is scheduled to take place at Bridgeworks, a venue located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Bridgeworks occupies a historically significant industrial space originally constructed in 1910 as part of the Canadian Westinghouse factory complex. The building served various manufacturing purposes throughout the 20th century before being repurposed as an event space.
Bridgeworks is known for its raw, industrial aesthetic – retaining many original architectural features like exposed brick walls and high ceilings – and its capacity to host both standing and seated events.
