Classical Concerts in Füssen

Experience Timothy Ridout live on September 2nd

Violinist Timothy Ridout will perform at Kaisersaal within the Baroque Monastery of St. Mang in Füssen, Germany on September 2nd, 2026. Ridout is recognized for his interpretations of both standard repertoire and lesser-known works, frequently performing solo Bach and exploring a diverse range of composers from the Baroque through contemporary periods. His playing is often described as possessing a compelling intensity and refined technique, noted for its lyrical phrasing and expressive depth. He has gained international recognition through awards and performances with leading orchestras globally.

Kaisersaal (Imperial Hall) is located within the St. Mang Monastery, a significant historical and architectural landmark in Füssen. The monastery dates back to the 8th century, initially founded by Saint Magnus of Füssen. The current Baroque structure largely reflects renovations undertaken in the 17th and 18th centuries, commissioned by Prince Abbot Romanus II Gupf. Kaisersaal itself served as a reception hall for imperial guests visiting the monastery – notably Emperor Maximilian I in 1507 – hence its name.
