Timothy Brock is a contemporary American composer and violinist known for works blending tonal lyricism with neo-romantic harmonic language, often incorporating elements of American folk music and jazz influences. His compositions frequently feature virtuosic violin writing, reflecting his own performance background. He has received commissions from numerous orchestras and chamber ensembles internationally.

The concert will be held at the Taper Auditorium, located within the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington in Seattle. Originally constructed in 1968 as part of the university’s expansion following World War II, Taper Auditorium was designed by architect Fred Bassetti and initially served as a multi-purpose space for lectures, performances, and film screenings.

The auditorium underwent significant renovations in 2017, enhancing its acoustics and updating its technical capabilities while preserving its original mid-century modern aesthetic. It is now considered a prominent venue for musical performances within the university and broader Seattle community, particularly suited for chamber music and smaller orchestral ensembles due to its intimate size and refined sound quality. The space accommodates approximately 250 people.
