The Style Council will be performing at Colchester Arts Centre on March 20, 2027. The Style Council were a British band active primarily during the 1980s, formed from the dissolution of the Mod revival band The Jam. Their music blended elements of soul, jazz, funk, and pop with a distinctly British lyrical sensibility, often addressing social and political themes. Paul Weller was the principal songwriter and vocalist, alongside keyboardist Mick Talbot; their sound moved away from the raw energy of The Jam towards more sophisticated arrangements and production. They achieved significant commercial success with singles like “Shout to the Top!” and “Walls Come Tumbling Down!”.

Colchester Arts Centre is a venue located within a former Victorian brewery building in Colchester, Essex. Originally constructed as part of the Tollemache brewery complex in the late 19th century, it underwent conversion into an arts centre in 1972.
