The Messthetics, a Washington D.C.-based instrumental trio, will perform at Le Grand Mix in Tourcoing, France on October 25, 2026. The band is known for its unique blend of post-hardcore, jazz, and experimental rock, characterized by intricate guitar work from Scott McCloud, driving bass lines from Melissa Scaduto, and dynamic drumming from Alex Reed. Formed in 2017, they gained prominence through releases on the Dischord Records label – a historically significant independent punk record label – and have garnered attention for their complex compositions and improvisational approach.

Le Grand Mix is a cultural venue located in Tourcoing, situated in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France. Originally a textile factory dating back to the 19th century, it was repurposed and inaugurated as a concert hall and performance space in 2014. The venue is recognized for its industrial aesthetic and focus on diverse musical programming including rock, jazz, electronic music and world music. It’s designed to accommodate both established and emerging artists while contributing to the cultural landscape of the area.
