The Klezmatics will perform at Tempel Synagogue in Krakow, Poland on July 3, 2026. The Klezmatics are a contemporary American klezmer band, widely recognized for their innovative interpretations of traditional Eastern European Jewish music. Their style blends elements of jazz, punk, and other world music influences with the core instrumentation and melodic structures of klezmer – often featuring clarinet, accordion, trombone, bass and percussion. They are known for incorporating politically and socially conscious themes into their performances and recordings.

Tempel Synagogue, also known as the Reform Temple, holds a significant place in Krakow’s Jewish history. Constructed in 1860 by the progressive Jewish community of Krakow, it represented a departure from more orthodox practices. The synagogue was one of the most modern Jewish houses of worship in Europe at the time of its construction, boasting advanced architectural features and an organ – uncommon in traditional synagogues. During World War II, the synagogue was desecrated by the Nazi occupation forces and used for secular purposes including as an archive.
