The Klezmatics will perform at the Irvine Barclay Theatre on March 7, 2027. The Klezmatics are a highly regarded ensemble known for their innovative interpretations of klezmer music, a traditional Jewish instrumental music originating in Eastern Europe. Their style blends this heritage with influences from jazz, funk, and other world music traditions, resulting in a sound that is both deeply rooted and strikingly contemporary. Formed in New York City in 1983, they are considered pioneers in the klezmer revival and have received numerous awards for their contributions to the genre.

The Irvine Barclay Theatre, located on the campus of the University of California, Irvine, is a prominent performing arts venue in Orange County. Opened in 1990, it’s designed to provide an intimate setting for a variety of performances including dance, theatre, classical music, and world music presentations. The theatre’s architecture emphasizes acoustics and sightlines; it features 785 seats arranged in a European horseshoe configuration. It frequently hosts nationally and internationally touring artists and serves as a cultural hub for the surrounding community. The venue is managed by UCI’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
