The King’s Singers, a British vocal ensemble founded in 1968 during their time at King’s College, Cambridge, will perform at Saint Bavo’s Cathedral in Ghent, Belgium on October 3, 2026. The group is renowned for its a cappella performance style, encompassing repertoire from Renaissance polyphony to jazz standards and contemporary pop arrangements. Their arrangements often feature intricate harmonies and skillful vocal percussion, showcasing the versatility of the male voice. Throughout their career, they have commissioned numerous works and consistently explored diverse musical genres.

Saint Bavo’s Cathedral is the primary Roman Catholic church of Ghent and a prominent landmark within the city. Originally constructed as a chapel dedicated to Saint John the Baptist in the 15th century, it evolved over centuries into its current Gothic structure. The cathedral is particularly famed for housing “The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” by Jan and Hubert van Eyck – a masterpiece of Early Netherlandish painting – alongside significant sculptural works and architectural features representative of Flemish art history. The building's acoustics are considered notable due to its large volume and stone construction, making it a favoured venue for choral performances. Its organ has undergone several restorations throughout its history.
