Bridport Electric Palace originally opened in 1926 as a cinema and variety hall. Throughout its history it has functioned as a cinema, theatre, ballroom and concert venue. The building underwent significant restoration work in the early 2000s, preserving many of its original Art Deco features. It remains one of the oldest continually operating cinemas in the United Kingdom and is now operated by a community interest company following a period of volunteer management. The venue hosts a diverse programme including film screenings, live music events, theatre productions and community activities; it has a capacity of approximately 380 people.
