The Far Out, a musical group specializing in recreations of Grateful Dead performances, is scheduled to perform at Castle Hill On The Crane Estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts on June 25, 2026. The band focuses on interpreting the improvisational and songbook elements characteristic of the Grateful Dead’s extensive career, aiming to replicate the experience of a live Dead concert.

Castle Hill On The Crane Estate is a Great House and surrounding landscape designed by architect David A. Adler for Richard T. Crane Jr., completed in 1928. The estate exemplifies the Country Place Era aesthetic, featuring Italianate gardens, rolling lawns, and views overlooking the Ipswich River and Crane Beach. It’s historically significant as one of the best-preserved examples of this architectural style in the United States.

The estate is owned by the Trustees of Reservations, a non-profit land conservation organization, and is open to public visitation year-round. Concerts are periodically held on the expansive lawn known as “The Great Meadow,” utilizing the estate's picturesque backdrop. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places reflecting its cultural and architectural importance.
