Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University (Salaya Campus) on September 5, 2026. The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 2003, is recognized as Thailand’s leading symphony orchestra. Its repertoire spans a broad range of classical music, from Baroque and Classical periods to contemporary works, with a particular focus on showcasing both internationally renowned composers and Thai composers. The orchestra regularly collaborates with both international and Thai soloists.
Prince Mahidol Hall is the primary concert hall of the College of Music at Mahidol University. Opened in 1995 and named in honour of Prince Mahidol of Songkla, the father of King Rama VIII and King Rama IX, it is considered one of the finest acoustic spaces in Southeast Asia. The hall's design incorporates elements inspired by the shoebox shape favoured for its acoustic properties, and features adjustable reverberation capabilities. It serves not only as a performance venue for the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra but also hosts a variety of musical events including recitals, chamber music concerts and academic presentations related to music. The hall plays a significant role in promoting classical music education and performance within Thailand.
