Experience Tetzlaff Quartet live on May 28th

The Tetzlaff Quartet is scheduled to perform at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on May 28, 2027. The quartet, comprised of Christian Tetzlaff, Elena Mikhailenko, Tanja Tetzlaff, and Johannes Moser (cello, replacing the previous cellist), is renowned for its intensely focused and intellectually probing interpretations of chamber music. Their performances are characterized by a distinctive sound – simultaneously polished and raw – prioritizing clarity of line and a profound emotional depth. They frequently explore both standard repertoire and lesser-known works, often exhibiting a willingness to challenge conventional performance practices.

The Concertgebouw itself opened in 1888 and is widely considered one of the world’s greatest concert halls, celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. Designed by Pieter Cuypers, the building’s architecture reflects Dutch Romanticism with notable influences from Gothic and Renaissance styles. Its rectangular shape and relatively modest size contribute to its renowned acoustic qualities; specifically, the hall's warmth and natural reverberation are highly valued by musicians and audiences alike. Throughout its history, the Concertgebouw has been home to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra but also regularly hosts international ensembles and soloists across various genres.
