Talea Ensemble will perform at the Dimenna Center for Classical Music’s Mary Flagler Cary Hall in New York City on August 8, 2026. Talea Ensemble is a New York-based ensemble dedicated to contemporary classical music, frequently performing works by emerging composers alongside established figures. Their repertoire is characterized by a focus on technically demanding and intellectually stimulating pieces, often incorporating extended techniques and exploring complex rhythmic and harmonic structures. The ensemble typically features a flexible instrumentation including flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano/percussion, allowing them to address a wide range of compositional approaches.

The Dimenna Center for Classical Music, located within the Kaufman Music Center, provides affordable rehearsal and performance space for a diverse array of classical musicians. Mary Flagler Cary Hall, the Center’s primary performance venue, is known for its excellent acoustics and intimate setting seating approximately 300 people. Originally built as a settlement house in the early 20th century to serve immigrant communities through musical education, the building underwent significant renovations in the 1990s transforming it into a dedicated facility for classical music.
