Superchunk, the influential American indie rock band formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1989, will be performing at Room 2 in Glasgow on June 26th, 2026. Their music is generally characterized by a blend of melodic songwriting, dynamic shifts between quiet verses and loud, distorted choruses – a sound often associated with the 90s indie and alternative rock scenes. Lyrically, their work frequently explores themes of personal relationships and societal observations with a direct and often self-deprecating tone. The band has released nine studio albums to date, consistently maintaining a dedicated following throughout their career.

Room 2 is a relatively intimate venue located within the Braes Shopping Centre in Matheson Street, Glasgow. Originally established as a small club space, it has become known for hosting both emerging and established alternative and independent artists. The venue’s capacity is approximately 250 people, fostering a close connection between performers and audience members. It's recognised for its focus on showcasing diverse musical genres beyond mainstream sounds and has become a significant fixture within Glasgow’s live music landscape since its inception in 2018.
