The Stuttgarter Philharmoniker will perform a concert at Schloss Hellenstein in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Germany on July 26, 2026. Schloss Hellenstein, dating back to the 16th century, began as a medieval moated castle. Significant alterations occurred during the Renaissance period under the von Helfenstein family – hence the name “Hellenstein.” Over time, it transitioned through various ownerships and architectural styles, including Baroque and Classicist influences. In the 19th century, extensive neo-Gothic reconstruction transformed its appearance to largely what is seen today.

The castle served diverse purposes throughout its history including a residence, administrative center and briefly as a prison during wartime. Today, Schloss Hellenstein functions as a cultural venue hosting concerts, exhibitions and events; its courtyard provides an atmospheric setting for open-air performances.
