Formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Stooges Brass Band gained prominence through street performances and have since released several albums, developing a reputation for energetic live shows and innovative arrangements. Their sound features prominent trombone melodies alongside a driving rhythm section and often incorporates original compositions as well as reinterpretations of popular songs.

Tipitina's, located on Napoleon Avenue, holds significant cultural importance within New Orleans’ musical landscape. Established in 1974 by brothers Reginald and Charles “Papa” Lambert, it was initially conceived as a venue to showcase Professor Longhair, a local piano legend who lacked consistent performance spaces. The club quickly became a vital hub for New Orleans music, particularly funk, rhythm & blues, and brass band traditions. Known for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics, Tipitina’s has hosted countless iconic musicians over the decades and continues to support both established artists and emerging talent.
