Experience Staatskapelle Dresden live on November 2nd
Staatskapelle Dresden, one of the world’s oldest and most esteemed orchestras, will perform at the Philharmonie de Paris on November 2, 2026. The orchestra is historically associated with a rich, warm tonal quality and a tradition deeply rooted in the German-Austrian classical repertoire. While capable of performing works from all periods, Staatskapelle Dresden maintains a particular affinity for the music of Richard Strauss, Richard Wagner – with whom the orchestra had a long and significant relationship – and Carl Maria von Weber. Its sound is often described as possessing both power and elegance, reflecting its long history of performing in the intimate acoustic of the Semperoper opera house in Dresden.
The Philharmonie de Paris, inaugurated in January 2015, is a modern concert hall complex designed by Jean Nouvel. It features two primary halls: the Grande Salle Pierre Boulez, known for its vineyard-style seating arrangement and exceptional acoustics; and the smaller Salle des Yeux. The complex aims to be a major hub for musical innovation and accessibility, hosting a diverse range of classical music performances, contemporary works, and multidisciplinary events.
