Special EFX, a pioneering electronic music act prominent during the 1980s and 90s, will be performing at The Grape in Ventura County, California on October 1st, 2026. The duo, comprised of brothers Marc and Andy Heller, is recognized for its instrumental electronic compositions blending elements of techno, progressive house, and new age soundscapes. Their music frequently incorporates melodic synthesizer work and driving rhythms, gaining them recognition as influential figures in the early electronic dance music scene with tracks like "Hypnotic Dance" becoming club staples. They were also known for their contributions to film soundtracks including *Risky Business*.

The Grape is a long-standing live music venue located in Ventura. Originally opening in 1973 as a folk music club, it has since hosted a diverse range of artists across genres including rock, blues, country and alternative. Throughout its history, The Grape has maintained a reputation for an intimate setting and focus on showcasing live performances. It’s known for its relatively small capacity—around 200 people—creating a close connection between performers and audience members.
