Special EFX, the American smooth jazz duo comprised of Chieli Minucci and George Javor, will be performing at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts on October 2, 2026. Their music blends elements of jazz fusion, R&B, and pop, prominently featuring Minucci’s signature guitar work and Javor’s keyboard arrangements. The group gained recognition in the 1980s with instrumental tracks frequently used in television and film soundtracks, including themes for *Entertainment Tonight* and *Solid Gold*. They have released over 20 albums throughout their career, consistently charting on Billboard's contemporary jazz charts.

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) opened in 1993 and is a prominent regional arts venue located in Cerritos, California. Designed by architect Barton Myers, the center is known for its distinctive modern architectural style featuring a reflective glass façade and a central rotunda. The CCPA hosts a diverse range of performances including Broadway shows, concerts, dance performances, and family programming. It features two primary performance spaces: the 1,350-seat Armstrong Theatre and the 450-seat Studio Theater.
