Sparta will be performing at Patterns, Brighton on October 14, 2026. Sparta is an American rock band originally formed in Austin, Texas in 2001. Their music is generally categorized as post-hardcore, often incorporating elements of alternative rock and progressive rock. Characterized by dynamic shifts between melodic passages and heavier, emotionally charged sections, Sparta’s sound features intricate guitar work and Jim Ward’s distinctive vocals. The band gained prominence in the early 2000s with albums like *Austere* and *Porcelain*, following the dissolution of their previous project, At the Drive-In.

Patterns is a multi-room venue located in Brighton’s Marina area. Opened in 2015, it occupies a repurposed Victorian building previously housing a casino. The venue features three distinct spaces: a main room focused on live music and club nights; a second room dedicated to more intimate performances and DJ sets; and an outdoor terrace area. Known for its high-quality sound systems and visually striking interior design – incorporating art deco influences – Patterns regularly hosts both established and emerging artists across various genres including electronic, indie, and alternative music.
