Sparta, the post-hardcore band originally formed in Austin, Texas in 2001, is scheduled to perform at Betty-Levi-Passage in Hamburg, Germany on October 21, 2026. The band’s sound is characterized by dynamic shifts between melodic and aggressive elements, incorporating intricate guitar work, emotionally resonant vocals, and a strong rhythmic foundation. Often categorized within the emo and alternative rock genres alongside bands like Thrice and Finch, Sparta emerged from the dissolution of the influential post-hardcore group At the Drive-In, with members Jim Ward and Tony Hajjar continuing their musical collaboration.

Betty-Levi-Passage is a relatively intimate concert venue located in the St. Pauli district of Hamburg. Originally constructed as part of a larger commercial building in the late 19th century, the passage itself was named after Betty Levi, a local businesswoman who played a role in its development. The venue maintains much of its original architectural character – featuring brickwork and arched walkways – creating a distinctive atmosphere for performances.
