Exchange is a multi-arts venue located in the heart of Bristol, housed within a historically significant building. Originally built as a tobacco auction mart in 1859 by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the Grade II listed building retains many of its original architectural features including a large central hall with a high vaulted ceiling. Throughout its history it functioned commercially before being repurposed as a cultural space. Since reopening as Exchange in 2014 following extensive renovations, it has become known for hosting diverse events including live music performances, club nights, art exhibitions and film screenings. The venue’s layout allows for both intimate performances and larger scale events while maintaining an emphasis on showcasing emerging and established artists across various disciplines.
