Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is a historic estate in Katonah, New York. Established in 1945 by Lucie and Henry Carnegie Hoyt, it began as a summer residence showcasing their extensive collection of Spanish sculpture. The Hoyts were passionate about music and began presenting chamber music concerts on the grounds soon after acquiring the property. Over time, Caramoor evolved into a renowned performing arts center hosting a wide range of musical genres – from classical to jazz to world music – as well as theater, dance, and art exhibitions. The venue is particularly known for its intimate outdoor settings including the Venetian Theater and Spanish Courtyard which provide unique acoustic experiences. It remains a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching lives through innovative arts programming.
