Smoove & Turrell will be performing at Gosforth Civic Theatre in Newcastle upon Tyne on December 11th, 2026. The duo are known for their distinctive blend of neo-soul, jazz, and funk, often described as a modern take on classic soul sounds. Their music features smooth vocals from Turrell, underpinned by Smoove’s instrumental arrangements – typically incorporating Rhodes piano, vintage drum grooves and sophisticated basslines. They have released several critically acclaimed albums and are recognised for their energetic live performances.

Gosforth Civic Theatre is a community theatre and arts venue located in the Gosforth area of Newcastle. Originally built in 1938 as a cinema – the Rex Cinema – it underwent a significant refurbishment and reopened as a theatre in 2016 following a campaign led by local residents to save it from potential demolition. The building retains some of its original Art Deco features alongside modernised facilities. It now hosts a diverse programme including theatre productions, live music, film screenings, and community events. The theatre aims to serve as a cultural hub for the local area and beyond, providing both professional and amateur performance opportunities.
