SML, the collaborative project between Finnish musicians Seppo Rannikko, Mikko Innanen, and Lasse Lindfors, will perform at Pori Jazz in 2026. Their music blends elements of jazz, funk, and electronic music, often characterized by improvisational interplay and a distinctive Nordic sound. The trio’s performances frequently feature extended instrumental passages and a focus on atmospheric textures alongside groove-based rhythms. SML has released several albums to critical acclaim within Finnish jazz circles and has toured extensively throughout Scandinavia.

Pori Jazz is Finland’s oldest jazz festival, first established in 1966. The 2026 iteration will mark its 61st year. Traditionally held in July, the festival takes place in various venues across the city of Pori, utilizing both indoor concert halls and outdoor stages within Kirjurinluoto Park as primary locations. Pori Jazz is known for presenting a diverse program encompassing both internationally renowned artists and emerging talent from the Nordic countries and beyond. The festival consistently attracts a substantial audience of jazz enthusiasts annually and is considered a significant cultural event for the region.
