Experience Smithereens live on August 3rd
The Smithereens are scheduled to perform at Neptune Theatre in Seattle, Washington on August 3, 2026. The band is recognized for their power pop sound, blending elements of 1960s British Invasion rock with a distinctly American jangle and a punk rock edge. Formed in New Jersey in 1980, they gained prominence throughout the 1980s and 90s with hits like “Blood and Roses” and were known for energetic live performances and Pat DiNizio’s songwriting.
Neptune Theatre originally opened in 1921 as a grand movie palace designed by architects B. Marcus Priteca and Frederick Anhalt. It operated primarily as a single-screen cinema for much of its history, showcasing films from various eras. In the early 2000s, it underwent significant renovations to transform into a multi-purpose performance venue.
Today, the Neptune Theatre hosts a diverse range of events including concerts, film screenings, comedy shows, and theatrical productions. Its interior retains much of its original architectural detailing, including ornate plasterwork and a proscenium arch, creating a unique atmosphere for performances.
