Širom is a Slovenian musical group known for their distinctive blend of traditional Slovenian folk music with elements of jazz, ambient, and world music. Their compositions frequently feature vocal harmonies rooted in alpine polyphony alongside contemporary instrumentation, creating a sound that is both deeply connected to Slovenian heritage and innovative. They often draw lyrical inspiration from Slovenian poetry and folklore.

The concert will take place at Finžgarjeva rojstna hiša (Frančišek Finžgar’s Birth House) in Žirovnica, Slovenia. This building is significant as the birthplace and childhood home of Frančišek Finžgar (1871-1962), a prominent Slovenian writer, playwright, and poet considered a key figure in modern Slovenian literature. The house itself is a preserved example of a typical 19th-century Gorenjska region farmhouse.

Currently operating as a museum, Finžgarjeva rojstna hiša is dedicated to preserving the legacy of Frančišek Finžgar and showcasing the cultural heritage of the Gorenjska region. It hosts various cultural events throughout the year, aiming to promote Slovenian language, literature, and artistic expression within its historically relevant setting.
