Silentium is a Czech musical group specializing in darkwave and neoclassical music, often incorporating elements of gothic rock and ethereal wave. Their compositions typically feature atmospheric soundscapes, prominent female vocals, and lyrical themes exploring melancholia, introspection, and romanticism. The band has been active since 2002 and has released several albums to international acclaim within the gothic music scene.
Kostel Sv. Simona A Juda (Church of St Simon and St Jude) is a Baroque church located in Prague’s Old Town, Czechia. Originally built on the site of an earlier Gothic church dating back to the 14th century, the current structure was largely reconstructed in the early 18th century by Giovanni Domenico Orsi. The church is noted for its ornate interior featuring stucco decorations, frescoes depicting scenes from the lives of Saints Simon and Jude, and a distinctive high altar.
Throughout its history, the church has undergone periods of both prominence and decline, including damage during the Prussian siege of Prague in 1757. In more recent times it has become known as a venue for concerts, particularly those featuring classical or atmospheric musical styles that complement its architectural character.
