Shining, the Swedish musical project spearheaded by Jørgen Nordqvist, will be performing at SWG3 in Glasgow, United Kingdom on November 11, 2026. Shining’s music is generally categorized as avant-garde metal, evolving significantly over its lifespan. Initially rooted in black metal, the project has incorporated elements of jazz, progressive rock, and industrial music, often characterized by lengthy compositions, complex instrumentation and Nordqvist’s distinctive vocal delivery – frequently including spoken word passages. Lyrical themes often explore philosophical and personal struggles.

SWG3 is a multi-disciplinary arts complex located in the Finnieston area of Glasgow. Originally a TV studio for Scottish Television from 1966-1996, it was repurposed into a venue hosting concerts, club nights, theatre performances and art exhibitions. The complex comprises three main spaces: The Warehouse – a large industrial space; The Poetry Club – a smaller more intimate venue; and TV Studio – used for varied events including film screenings and live broadcasts.
