Experience Seong-Jin Cho live on December 17th
Seong-Jin Cho, the South Korean classical pianist who rose to international prominence after winning the 2015 International Chopin Competition, will perform at Herkulessaal in Munich on December 17, 2026. Cho is recognized for his poetic and nuanced interpretations, often characterized by a delicate touch, refined pedaling, and a deep understanding of musical structure. While capable of powerful dramatic expression, his performances frequently emphasize clarity and emotional restraint, allowing the composer’s intent to shine through. He performs a wide range of repertoire but is particularly celebrated for his interpretations of Chopin and Debussy.
Herkulessaal is Munich’s primary concert hall, located within the Residenz palace complex – the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach monarchs of Bavaria. Originally constructed between 1763 and 1765 as the court’s opera house under Maximilian III Joseph, it underwent significant renovation and redesign in the early 20th century following damage during World War II. The current neo-classical interior dates largely from this period.
