Schmalgauzen, a German musical project known for its blend of darkwave, post-punk, and electronic body music (EBM) influences, is scheduled to perform at the Mojo Club in Hamburg on August 18, 2026. The group’s sound frequently incorporates melancholic melodies with driving rhythms and introspective lyrical themes, drawing comparisons to acts within the Neue Deutsche Welle scene while maintaining a distinctly modern aesthetic. They have released several albums and EPs to critical acclaim within the European underground music community.

The Mojo Club, located in the St. Pauli district of Hamburg, has a long history as a venue dedicated to alternative and independent music. Originally opening in 1972 as a jazz club called “MoJo,” it transitioned over time to embrace a broader range of genres including rockabilly, punk, indie rock and electronic music. The venue is recognized for its intimate atmosphere and relatively small capacity – approximately 300 people – fostering close interaction between performers and audiences. It has hosted numerous international and local artists throughout its existence, becoming a significant landmark for Hamburg's live music scene and maintaining a reputation for showcasing emerging talent alongside established acts.
