Schmalgauzen, a musical project spearheaded by German artist Tobias Rapp, will perform at Kulturquartier Stuttgart on August 15, 2026. Rapp’s work under the Schmalgauzen moniker is characterized by a blend of electronic music, often incorporating elements of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), glitch, and ambient textures. His compositions frequently feature manipulated vocal samples and intricate sound design, creating atmospheric and often melancholic soundscapes. He has released albums on labels such as Mille Plateaux and is known for his detailed and experimental approach to production.

Kulturquartier Stuttgart is a significant cultural hub located in the city center, encompassing several institutions within the former railway repair shop grounds. Originally established in the 1990s as a self-governed cultural initiative, it has evolved into a recognized institution supported by the city of Stuttgart. The area houses venues for theatre (including the Staatstheater Stuttgart’s studios), dance, music, visual arts, and literature.
